I consider myself blessed for what I am doing and try to give back whenever I have the chance. It gives immense satisfaction to know that I contribute to others happiness with my art.
When business is slow instead of dwelling too much on the 'what ifs' or on uncertainty I focus on helping others and take the focus away from me. Often by being in motion other opportunities come my way and I can keep on traveling.

Garrick Martina, a local artist and me came up with the project "Drecha bo barrio". (Pimp your neighborhood) :) To bring art to children in neighborhoods that need some color. This weekend we brought color to Otrobanda. The mural was created for kids but also by kids on an old neglected building. The idea was for them to experience the joy of creating and also to take pride in their creation and therefore in their neighborhood. We worked hard for two days in the burning sun even forgetting to get lunch or dinner but the rewards were big. It was amazing to see how happy the children were to participate and how they embraced us from the start calling us Auntie and Uncle
Honored to be last minute one of the 50 artists from all over the world to participate in Curacao's worlds longest painting. Apart from the attempt to break a world record of 2km with the community, all artists get 10 meters of fabric each. The proceeds of the painting goes to founding an art academy in Curacao. The fact that Curacao doesn't have it's own art academy for the youth to express themselves through visual arts, music, dance and the importance of culture for a country are making us reach out out of solidarity. I'm understanding my own pain growing up and not seeing art as something valuable and I'm amazed how the Universe guided me to be part of this change.
